Vintage 1959 Photo of Ferrari 250 TR 59 S/N 0766TR & 0770TR at the Goodwood Tourist Trophy.

This is a vintage 1959 photo of the leader pack during the TT at Goodwood.

The pack consists of:

  • The # 2 Aston-Martin DBR1/300 (S/N 2, would win this race) of Carroll Shelby & Jack Fairman, followed by
  • The # 22 Porsche 718 RSK (would finish second) of Wolfgang Berghe von Trips & Joakim Bonnier
  • The # 9 Ferrari 250 TR 59 (S/N 0770TR, would finish 5th) of Tony Brooks & Dan Gurney
  • The # 24 Porsche 718 RSK (would crash out of the race) of Hans Herrmann & Chris Bristow
  • Last but not least the # 10 Ferrari 250 TR 59 (S/N 0766TR, would finish 3rd) of Olivier Gendebien (other sources say that Cliff Allison drove the car until it was taken over by Phil Hill / Tony Brooks).

Both 0766TR & 0770TR have extensive racing careers and survive to this day.

The photo measures some 18 x 12.5 cm or 7 x 5 inches and is in mint condition.

This is a vintage 1962 colour photo of the factory entered Ferrari 330 TRI LM of Olivier Gendebien and Phil Hill being unloaded in the paddock before the race.

In the photo, we see the car being rolled off the lorry with a fantastic backdrop composed of early 1960's French cars and some sponsor vehicles like Dunlop and the Citroen HY of Bardahl Oil.

The car, which bears race number 6 here is S/N 0808 (previously 0780TR, a 250 TR 60, which frame was lengthened, a Fantuzzi body was mounted and equipped with a 4 Liter 390 HP V12 engine) and which seems to reside in Argentina now.

The photo measures some 12.5 x 9 cm or some 4 x 3.5 inches.

The back carries the photographer's stamp and some written notes.

It is in mint condition.

This is a vintage 1962 colour photo of the factory entered Ferrari 330 TRI LM of Olivier Gendebien and Phil Hill en route to victory in the 1962 running of the 24 Heures du Mans.

In the photo, we see Olivier getting a hand to climb over the pit wall after his stint. Taking all aspects into account (like the shadows, the dirt on the car etc) this photo was taken around 11 o'clock in the morning of June 24, 1962 (how lovely it is to discover such details on a COLOR photo!).

The car, which bears race number 6 here is S/N 0808 (previously 0780TR, a 250 TR 60, which frame was lengthened, a Fantuzzi body was mounted and equipped with a 4 Liter 390 HP V12 engine) and which seems to reside in Argentina now.

This is a vintage 1962 photo of the Scuderia Serenissima Ferrari 250 TRI 61 which was driven by Carlo Abate and Nino Vaccarella during the Nurburgring 1000 KM race.

The car crashed out of the race in lap 7.

The car has an extensive racing history and now seems to reside in the USA.

The Morgan in the foreground is the Plus 4 of Guy & Claude Savoye which finished 25th.

This is a vintage 1962 photo of the 246SP, S/N 0796, during preparation for the 1962 Targa Florio.

The car would win the race, driven by Willy Mairesse, Ricardo Rodriguez and Olivier Gendebien.

The car in question is the 246 SP S/N 0796 which was later modified to serve as a mule for the Tipo 250 P and crashed during practice for the 1963 Targa Florio. The car burnt out completely and was assumed to have been scrapped although parts of it seem to survive.

In the background we see the # 108 Porsche 718 GTR of Nino Vaccarella and Jo Bonnier which would finish 3rd overall.

This is a vintage photograph of the Ferrari 250P (# 22) of Mike Parkes and Umberto Maglioli during the April 6 and 7 1963 tests / qualification for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The duo would go on to finish 3rd in the race with a total of 323 Laps to their name.

S/N 810 survives to this date in the USA.

This is a so-called "wire photo" which was sent around the world by Interpress from Paris, France in April 1963 and comes complete with a brief description as shown in the scan.

The photo measures some 18 x 13 cm or 7 x 5 inches.

The back carries the stamp of Interpress.

Very good condition but with pinholes in the corners.

Vintage 1964 Photo of the Ferrari 196 SP of Leandro Terra.

This is a vintage 1964 photo of the 196SP, S/N 0790, during the training day for the 1964 Targa Florio. Terra would partne up with Cesare Toppetti but unfortunately, the pair only managed 5 laps and dropped out of the race.

This is a vintage print, i.e. printed shortly after the original image was captured on film.

The car, S/N 0790, was bought by Terra in January 1964 and after a mere 4 races the car was stored until 2002. It now seems to reside in Germany.

The photo measures some 6 x 4 inches or 15 x 10 cm and is in excellent condition. The back carries NO photographer's stamp.
